Children and Family, Healthy, Cookery Workshops.
We are very excited to announce the launch of free, children and family, cookery workshops, this half-term at Holmes Chapel Community Centre. There will be three types of workshops available;
- Primary aged (6-11)
- Secondary (11-17)
- and family workshops (children must be aged 5 minimum, 2 children per parent/carer.)
The workshops are fun and interactive, allowing children (and parents/carers in the family workshop) to learn how to eat more healthily and learn to make a simple dish or snack. Children will be encouraged to find out where food comes from and why we need to eat different foods.We will talk about sugar and use the food scanner app to check out the sugar in the food we eat and provide ideas for more healthy snacks.
For older children we will discuss the “eat well plate”, traffic light system on food labels and basic food hygiene. Everyone will have the opportunity to try out new foods and discover new exciting flavours.
Anyone meeting the following criteria can attend:
- I Live in Cheshire East.
- I want to learn more about eating healthily and understand what is in the food I eat.
