A delicious, comforting dish that is perfect for cooking in bulk and freezing for easy reheating later in the week.

Makes 4 Large Servings


  • Olive Oil = 18ml/1tbs

  • Onion (Finely Chopped)  = 120g

  • Garlic (Finely Chopped) = 3 Cloves

  • 5% Lean Beef Mince = 1000g

  • Sweet Pointed Peppers(Finely Chopped) = 130g

  • Beef Oxo = 2 Cubes

  • Tinned Tomatoes = 800g/2 Tins

  • Red Wine Vinegar = 30ml/2tbs

  • Tomato Puree = 40g

  • Worcestershire Sauce = 35ml

  • A Red Chilli (Finely Chopped)

  • Ground Cumin = 4tsp

  • Cinnamon = 1tsp

  • Paprika = 2tsp


In a large, deep pan heat the oil over a medium heat and when hot saute the onions until softened. Then add the garlic and continue stirring for 1 minute before tossing in the beef mince, turning up the heat and sizzling until browned.

Next into the pan goes the peppers, chilli, spices, stock cubes, salt and pepper to flavour the meat. Stir for around 2 mins before adding the liquid ingredients, covering with a lid and leaving to simmer over a medium heat for 20mins. Pop back to check progress and stir occasionally.

When the 20 mins are up taste the Chilli and add more seasoning if needed and some chopped fresh coriander if you like and serve over rice.

Add 100kcal per 1/2 cup of rice eaten.
