Member Wayne loses an incredible 6 ½ stone, his motto “don’t let fitness rule your life, just incorporate it.”

 

Wayne has been a member at Crewe Lifestyle Centre for 18 months after being referred onto the Lifestyle Coach programme for help with his obesity and suffering with severe depression and anxiety. Since joining and in full support and cooperation with his doctor and counselling service he has lost an incredible 6 ½ stone.

Wayne met with Lifestyle Coach Kevin who helped him to set his own targets, which at the time was to lose 1lb a week. Wayne explained “Kevin has been supportive all the way through the programme; he understood me as in individual, encouraged me and assured me anything is better than nothing.”

Following a change in his treatment and continued support from both Kevin and Robert at the lifestyle centre his initial loss of around a 1lb a week, Wayne changed his routine and diet and since Christmas 2016  has lost an incredible 4 ½ stone through healthy eating and exercising, as well as setting achievable goals. Wayne explains “At Crewe Lifestyle Centre, nobody is made to feel they shouldn’t be here, no matter your health or ability, there is no intimidation or pressure from anyone.”

Wayne’s family and friends have also joined, they enjoy a healthy lifestyle together, by supporting each other and Wayne now attends the gym 4-5 times a week.

During April, Wayne is taking part in the centre’s customer challenge. This involves travelling the distance of 811 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats as a team using the Actilife fitness tracker. Not only is Wayne taking part with a team he has also set the challenge to complete the 811 miles individually. Wayne is currently in 1st position, completing 534 miles in the first 19 days. He has set himself the extra target of losing another stone during this challenge, so far, he has lost 8lbs.

“Without Actilife, which measures your calories, sleep and steps, I didn’t realise how many miles I was walking each day. There is a coach who can be contacted directly through the Actlilife app to support and encourage me. This challenge certainly has focused me this month.”
