Bikeability is designed to give children the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads.
Bikeability is a nationally recognised scheme which has helped millions of children by attending Bikeability training within their schools.
There are three Bikeability levels, with each level designed to help improve cycling skills, no matter what the cyclist knows already.
Levels 1, 2 and 3 take trainees on a journey from the basics of balance and control, all the way through to planning and making a journey by themselves on busier roads.
From April 2024 Everybody Health and Leisure is responsible for the delivery of Bikeability in Cheshire East.
If you are a school or parent looking for more information on Bikeability, please complete the form below.
Before setting off make sure to do a ABC bike check
A = Air – Squeeze the tyres to ensure they are solid like an apple and not squishy like a banana.
B = Brakes – Roll the bike forward and apply the front brakes. It should stop quickly. Roll the bike backwards to check the rear brakes.
C = Chain – Lift up the rear of the bike and rotate the pedal to ensure the chain runs smoothly.
