Cheshire and Warrington School Games coming soon!
Active Cheshire and Local School Games Organisers are proud to announce details of the Cheshire and Warrington Summer School Games 2015 part of the Sainsbury’s School Games.
This year’s festival will take place on the 8th of July at Everybody Sport & Recreation’s Macclesfield Leisure Centre and the adjacent Fallibroome Academy. The site is a fantastic venue which offers the wide range of outstanding facilities that an event of this scale requires and really showcases the value of partnership working to maximise the benefit for young people.
The festival is the culmination of a number of local area School Games competitions that have taken place throughout the year. Over 1000 children will take part across 9 different sports throughout the day including Athletics, Rounders, Golf, Table Tennis and Gymnastics. The smooth running of the day will be made possible by close to 100 Young Leader volunteers ensuring the games is truly ‘for the young people, by the young people’.
Duncan Setterington, Active Cheshire’s Strategic Lead for Education said:
“We are delighted to be leading on this programme and working with some exciting partnerships to bring this flagship summer school sport festival to Cheshire East for the first time in its history”
Through the work of School Games Organisers across Cheshire & Warrington delivering local rounds of competition the programme aims to reach every school in the subregion. Good luck to everyone who has made it through to the School Games finals, we hope you have a fantastic day!
