Over the past two weeks Everybody Sport and Recreation has had the pleasure of supporting two Triathlons at three of their Centres. The Wilmslow Triathlon at Wilmslow Leisure Centre and the Cheshire Triathlon which takes place at Nantwich Swimming Pool and the Barony Sports Complex.
On Sunday15th May 2016 Wilmslow Leisure Centre was once again host to the Wilmslow Triathlon, which is the biggest sprint triathlon in the Greater Manchester area. Hundreds took part in the triathlon whilst many family and friends took the opportunity to cheer on the athletes and enjoy the great weather.
The event consisted of a 400m swim in the Leisure Centre pool, with a transition on the cricket pitch. The picturesque 24.2km cycle route then went through the Cheshire countryside and finished with a 6.3km run, out from the leisure centre, along the leafy roads around east Wilmslow.
Todd the tiger was also on hand to show his support for the event. Here’s hoping Todd takes part next year!
The Cheshire Triathlon is one of the biggest Triathlon series to come to Cheshire East which returned to Nantwich on Sunday 22nd May. The event starts with a 500m swim in the Outdoor Pool at Nantwich Swimming Pool, a 20k Cycle around the South Cheshire Countryside, finishing off at the Barony Sports Complex to complete the final 5k Run.
Everybody Sport and Recreation attended the event at the Barony Sports Complex with Todd the Tiger for his second Triathlon appearance this year. Families enjoyed making Healthy Smoothies on our Smoothie Bike and creating bubbles on our Bubble Bikes. Families also enjoyed making supportive banners for their friends and family taking part in the event to cheer them on at the finish line.
Well done to everybody who took park in both Triathlons this year, if you would like more information on the Wilmslow Triathlon and the Cheshire Triathlon please visit their website for upcoming dates.
