Everybody staff, members, friends and family came together to beat cancer and get pretty muddy
On 30th September 2017 Reaseheath College held their first Pretty Muddy race event, organised through Cancer Research UK to raise money and awareness for the charity.
Sam Bottomley, Personal Trainer at Crewe Lifestyle Centre, announced the event to her female attendees during the fitness classes she teaches and a group of 20 members decided to participate in the 5k muddy obstacle run together. Some of the volunteers knew each other through being avid members of Crewe Lifestyle Centre and some had never met before which meant that Pretty Muddy 2017 was a great opportunity for new friendships to be formed.
Sam made sure that she was available to give advice or provide training to participating members on the run up to the event. Helen, one of our Fitness Instructors was leading the warm up for each wave of runners and her upbeat nature encouraged an excitable and positive atmosphere which continued to shine throughout the event.
All Everybody members and staff that attended had a great morning rolling round in the mud, and visiting our Everybody Gazebo where they were given a goody bag filled with post run necessities, and had their hair filled with glitter to add a little bit of glam to their mud-covered look.
A huge well done to all participants, it was a great event, for a great cause, and we loved seeing so many familiar Everybody faces there.
