Everybody Member Holly feels safer at the gym than walking down the street or in a supermarket.
Everybody Member Holly Ward, from Wilmslow has been a member of Everybody Sport and Recreation’s Wilmslow Leisure Centre for about 2 years and joined Everybody @ Alderley Park not long after it opened in November 2019.
Holly shares “Before joining, I tried out Penny’s Legs Bums and Tums class at Wilmslow with some friends and ended up loving it so much that I went most weeks. Soon after, I started doing a yoga class there too so I decided to become a member. The fact that the gyms are so close to home and the membership is such a good price meant that I managed to drag my whole family into joining the Alderley Park gym as well.”
“Currently, I go to the gym 4-5 days per week, sometimes doing a virtual rpm class before my gym slot. I’m undergoing rehab for my knees following recurring dislocations and hopefully working towards LEJOG for next year so I’m loving the spin classes at the moment.”
Since becoming a member, Holly shares “I’ve loved the friendly staff and the variety of different exercises and classes that I can choose from.”
Over lockdown Holly took part in Everybody Sport and Recreations live health at fitness classes which they provided for free in their Everybody MemberZone Facebook Group to keep the community active during this time. “This routine was probably the most important factor getting us through lockdown as we would spend each day knowing that we had an exercise class to do at 6pm in the living room. We started to see the lovely instructors like celebrities so I was a bit star struck when I saw Victoria teaching the spin class a few days ago.”
Holly shares she long awaited the reopening of the gym and found it amazing when she first went back. On return to Everybody @ Alderley Park she shares “Going with my dad, we were slightly apprehensive about returning as he had been shielding but right from the entrance everything we saw was reassuring. The booking system is comforting as I always know the gym cannot be crowded, the supplies of hand sanitiser, wipes and cleaning sprays are plentiful so people wipe their equipment down properly and the equipment is well spaced out between the two rooms allowing for social distancing.”
“For someone who may be nervous to return, I feel safer at the gym than I do walking down the street or in a supermarket.”
