Community of Congleton Benefits From State of The Art Swimming Facility
Registered Charity, Everybody Health and Leisure share the first learn to swim scheme customers and general keen swimmers, who were their new customers in the first weeks of trying Congleton Leisure Centre’s brand new facility.
Congleton’s swimming facility offers a 25m, 6 lane pool and an additional learner pool perfect for little ones, who are starting to learn to swim. The swimming fitness offer has something for everybody, from general and lane swims to aquafit group classes, where all ages and abilities are welcome.
Parent of Everybody’s learn to swim scheme, Josh Cammiss, a Congleton resident who attended Everybody’s first weekend, shared:
“Amber Cammiss’s had her first lesson as a discover duckling and she really enjoyed it. It was very interactive with a great teacher and we benefitted from the new equipment, toys and floats on offer. We’ve been at Macclesfield Leisure Centre and transferred over to Congleton as we only live up the road, which is so close to these great new facilities.”
Josh continued:
“We think it is really good for their confidence, they do other classes and clubs but I think it is swimming in particular where they really seem to develop that confidence and really see them sort of come into themselves doing lessons like this, really pleased that we can do them.”
Abbie Thorburn, Aquatics Manager at Everybody Health and Leisure shares:
“We are so proud of our Congleton Leisure Centre facility, with over 1346 swimmers booked on to our lessons, which is an amazing achievement, it just shows how much this service is needed. Learning to swim is such an important life skill, teaching them the fundamentals of swimming, developing crucial skills to grow confidence in the water, all while having fun!”
Everybody spoke to those who couldn’t wait to jump in and experience the wave in the brand new swimming facility, including Mick, a Congleton resident who enjoys swimming, sharing his first thoughts on the refurbishment. Mick shared:
“Me and my wife had a tour on the opening week and were very impressed with the much more modernised facilities. I haven’t been to a leisure centre for the last 12 months as I had an operation on my back so now being able to use the swimming pool is great for my recovery.”
