Our Outcomes & Promises

Everybody Health & Leisure is, at the core, a charity dedicated to helping the residents of Cheshire East improve their health and wellbeing. As such, any profit that we make is reinvested back into the local communities that we serve. The money that you pay for your membership or lessons has allowed us to support thousands of people living with long term health conditions to improve their health and their quality of life. It has also supported the Sport for Everybody programme, which has supported 22,774 attendances at sessions like disability cycling, para-netball, ability for all sessions, walking football and walking netball.

We have been externally evaluated this year to determine the value that we create for the residents of Cheshire East. We have been assessed as delivering £22.08 worth of social value for every £1 that comes into the organisation. This value is created through things like our health programmes, disability and inclusion programmes and the options we offer for health improvement, social connection and community building. So please be assured that when we increase our prices it is so that we can continue to deliver these services to the people who rely on them.

Fair Pay Deal for our Workforce

We are fully committed to making sure that our valued Everybody staff are paid fairly. We have recently implemented a pay award increase for all staff across the business, increasing salaries in line with the rise in inflation. We also continue to invest in our staff, maintaining our position as an award-winning employer and accredited Investor in People. This allows us to hire and retain the best people, so that when you visit us you have the assurance that our employees are specialised in their field, and are qualified to deliver a safe and welcoming environment for each and every visitor.

Swimming Pools & Swim Surcharge

Swimming pools remain at threat across the country because of their high running costs. We will keep championing swimming as a crucial life skill and are committed to keeping our pools open. Over the last three years we protected pools and offset financial pressures on Cheshire East Council through a swimming surcharge. We will continue to apply a surcharge in 2026-27 on all swimming activities to improve sustainability and operational efficiency to help ensure our facilities and services remain accessible for all.

Sustainability

This year we have committed to several initiatives to bring our carbon footprint down as an organisation. We are investing in improvements to our processes and technologies to make long term cost savings and drive operational efficiency. We have continued our work with the Public Decarbonisation Scheme and have worked with Sport England who funded the replacement of the pool filtration systems at Alsager and Macclesfield and the pool covers and air handling system at Crewe Lifestyle. We are now committed for 2026-27 to continue to improve our pools in partnership with the local authority through the application of the swim surcharge.

Options Concessionary Discount

This year the Options Membership discount remains at 17.5%.

This membership will continue to be available for eligible residents in Cheshire East in 2026-27. To access the support scheme and receive the concessionary discount, you’ll need to provide your proof of eligibility to the team over the coming weeks.

Cumberland Arena

In Partnership with the Town Investment Fund, we are redeveloping the Cumberland Arena. We will be opening to the public later this year to offer new studios, meeting spaces, accessible changing facilities and a spectator seating area. Four new changing rooms for athletes, footballers and general users of the site alongside dedicated facilities for officials will also be delivered.

Improvements in Facilities and Services

In the last year we have upgraded the swim changing rooms at Knutsford Leisure Centre and Poynton Leisure Centre to give swimmers there a better experience. We have also opened another facility in Crewe, when we took over Crewe West.

We have opened Padel Courts at the Barony Sports Complex and Holmes Chapel Community Centre and upgraded the Spa and Studio at Holmes Chapel Community Centre. We have also opened a third park cafe in Congleton.

This year we held the second Everybody Games at Macclesfield Leisure Centre and the first TRAIN Games, our own hybrid fitness racing event.

We also hosted the Everybody Awards and Everybody Junior Awards, shining a light on the best and brightest stars in the borough who are contributing to sport, health and community initiatives.

Planned Investments

In the coming year we have options for building additional padel courts at Crewe Lieftysle Centre, Congleton Leisure Centre and Macclesfield Leisure Centre, with extra plans for extensive outdoor improvements at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.

We will also be investing in the fitness offering and facilities at both Alsager Leisure Centre and Knutsford Leisure Centre. Keep an eye on our channels for further updates.

Digital Investment

We have upgraded our booking system for swimming lessons this year to make it even easier to book and manage your swim journey with us. We have also invested the Everybody App to make managing your membership, viewing timetables and booking classes smoother.

In 2026 we are redeveloping our website to further streamline your digital experience with us.
