Drowning Prevention Week 16-26 June 2017

By Everybody Sport May 22, 2017

Everybody Sport And Recreation Supports Drowning Prevention Week.

‘Drowning Prevention Week is the national campaign from the Royal Lifesaving Society UK and will run from June 16th to June 26th. One person drowns every 20 hours in the UK and many more suffer life changing injuries through near drowning. By spreading water safety advice far and wide, Drowning Prevention Week aims to teach people how to stay safe near water.’

We will be helping facilities and the Everybody Swim team to run a series of activities during the week in order to increase the safety of the swimmers across Cheshire East including:

Water safety poster competition for primary schools at each swimming pool

Water safety incorporated into all swimming lessons during the week

Supporting lifesaving clubs in delivering sessions during the week

Offering local schools water safety sessions either in the facility or in school
