Everybody Achieves Milestone of 20,000 voluntary hours

By Everybody Sport May 1, 2017

The everybody volunteer programme’s aim is to inspire a wide age range of people who want to volunteer.  We also provide volunteers with a safe, supportive and rewarding experience within a health, sporting or leisure environment. The amazing team of volunteers are dedicated to supporting their community to become more active and healthier.

Since the start of Everybody Sport & Recreation in May 2014 we have recorded the hours that people have volunteered to support our clubs, activities, and members, which has been a phenomenal amount.

Everybody wants the volunteer programme to have as big an impact as possible therefore our long-term overall target was 40,000 volunteer hours by 2020, and since the start of the trust in 2014 and on our 3 year anniversary we have exceeded the half way mark of 20,000 hours.

it was March 2017 which saw our team of volunteer’s clock up 20,000 volunteer hours and we would like to say a massive THANK YOU to the 150 volunteers involved in achieving this.

Volunteering has many benefits to the volunteer including; Reduction in stress and combat depression, keeps people mentally stimulated, career progression opportunities, and also provides a sense of purpose. But it also has great benefits to the local community and all the individuals that these volunteers interact with.
