Everybody Sport and Recreation Statement: Early help short break funding and Activ8 programme.

8 July 2017

Everybody Sport and Recreation was awarded ‘Early help short break’ funding by Cheshire East Council in January 2014 to start delivering services in April 2014.  The funding encompassed several activities:  trampolining classes, inclusive cycling and soft play sessions at Fun 4 All in Macclesfield and Playworld in Hough – we called this the ‘Activ8’ programme. We are extremely proud of the success of these activities and the difference they have made to many lives in our community.

This funding was set to run for two years with an option of a further two-year extension.

In December 2016 we received notice from Cheshire East Council that this funding was to end on August 31, 2017.  We were also informed that a new funding stream was planned for release later in the year. Our plan was that we would be able to use this funding to provide services under the ‘Activ8’ programme.

Cheshire East Council’s ‘Short Breaks’ programme and funding was announced in March this year.  Everybody –along with many other providers –applied for an element of this funding.  We have received a response from our initial tender and are still in the tendering process.

As a registered charity, Everybody exists to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in the Cheshire East community.  We recognise the value of the activities and we will ensure that parents will be kept informed of our progress once the tendering process has been completed.
