Everybody Sport & Recreation in discussions to manage Holmes Chapel Community Centre
Following the recent purchase of the former AP Club from Sanofi, Holmes Chapel Parish Council is in detailed discussions with a local leisure charity, Everybody Sport & Recreation Trust, with the intention of appointing them as its partner to help bring the centre back into full community use later this year and subsequently to manage the centre.
Steve Ranger, Chairman of Holmes Chapel Parish Council said
“Acquiring the Centre is a major step for the community and we have to make it a great success. A substantial investment is required to refurbish the premises and professional expertise will be required to operate the centre and ensure its continued viability. Our discussions with Everybody has convinced us that they have the dedication and expertise to help provide the Community with an excellent and well used community centre.”
Andrew Kolker, Chairman of the Everybody Board of Trustees, said
“I am delighted Everybody is in line to manage the Holmes Chapel Community Centre on behalf of the Parish Council and for the benefit of the residents of Holmes Chapel and the neighbouring villages. We will use all our experience and expertise to make this exciting opportunity a very successful venture, providing new facilities for healthy recreation, sporting and social activities. Our commitment to local residents is to create more local jobs and provide further investment over the next few months, bringing the centre back into use as soon as possible. Everybody already provides leisure facilities and activities to local residents across Cheshire East and reinvests all surpluses made from its operations back into the communities they serve.
The Centre will be refurbished over the coming months with facilities opened as they become available. We are looking forward to opening the new gym and fitness offer by the autumn of this year and welcoming members to this community ‘flagship’ facility. “
