Holmes Chapel Community Centre Strikes Gold with their Open Day

On Saturday 12th November Holmes Chapel Community Centre will be officially opened by Paralympic Gold medallist’s Megan Giglia and Sophie Thornhill.

Peter Hartwell, Chief Executive of Everybody Sport and Recreation says “We feel privileged to have both Megan and Sophie officially open Holmes Chapel Community Centre. 2016 has been an incredible year for sport in Cheshire East and to have two Paralympic Gold Medallist’ from our region open the Centre is a real honour and we thank them for sharing this momentous day with us.”

Everybody Sport and Recreation in partnership with Holmes Chapel Parish Council has recently refurbished Holmes Chapel Community Centre, which now houses a brand new Taste for Life Cafe & Bar, Community & Function Rooms and the Everybody Academy Training Suite as well as the leisure facilities which opened November 2015.

The open day will run from 10:00am- 15:00pm on Saturday 12th November, it is a chance for everybody to come down and view the brand new facilities as well as enjoy a range of fun activities for all the family. Megan and Sophie will officially open the Centre at 12:30pm.

Everybody Sport and Recreation will be offering a range of exclusive offers for the launch of the brand new facilities such as discount vouchers on room hire, free personal training sessions, an exclusive membership offer for the weekend only, free classes and competitions!

There will be a range of activities to take part in on the day such as, smoothie making on Everybody Sport and Recreation’s smoothie bike,  paint bikes, life support sessions provided by the Everybody Academy, bouncy castle, stalls and much more!

Councillor Brian Bath of Holmes Chapel Parish Council, who is the council’s representative on the Community Centre’s Joint Management Committee, said:

‘It is a real pleasure to see the refurbished social areas and external changing rooms completed and they will complement the already open fitness and gym facilities.  We encourage residents to visit the Community Centre on the opening weekend – 12th and 13th November – to see the completed refurbished areas and there will be many activities and village organisations present.”

Brian continues “There has been a significant effort by many parties to bring back these facilities for community use and the end result is everything we wanted to achieve.  The investment in these social facilities on behalf of residents by the Parish Council and by Everybody Sport and Recreation will provide great facilities now and for the future and enable residents and others to have a great place to meet and enjoy for many years to come.  We are particularly pleased that the “Taste for Life” bar and lounge area will be open in the near future offering coffee and light refreshments and encourage residents to come and enjoy these facilities.

The council and Everybody Sport and Recreation will continue to look at potential other improvements and facilities to the Community Centre and would welcome ideas and thoughts from residents and users.”

Everybody Sport and Recreation are encouraging the local community and businesses to have a stall on Saturday 12th November to show case what they have to offer. If you are interested in having a free stall please contact [email protected] for more information.

Holmes Chapel Community Centre will offer free personal training sessions, free classes and an exclusive membership offer for both Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th November. For more information on how to book please visit www.everybody.org.uk or call 01477 689557.
