Exercise for Long Term Neurological Conditions

This is a brand new pilot programme, delivered by Everybody Sport & Recreation, providing adults with a diagnosed long term neurological condition a pathway into taking part in structured physical activity that is supported by a Level 4 specialist qualified instructor. This will currently be offered at Crewe Lifestyle Centre and Macclesfield Leisure Centre. Conditions include:

• MS
• Stroke
• Spinal Chord Injury
• Acquired Brain Injury
• Cerebral Palsy
• Parkinson’s
• Motor Neuron Disease
• Other Neuromuscular conditions

 

12 Week Exercise Programme (£40 charge):

• 12 week programme consisting of initial introductory 1:1 consultation with Level 4 Instructor, 6 week 1:1 review, 12 week 1:1 review.
• Opportunity for personalised 1:1 induction programme into gym facilities by Level 4 qualified instructor.
• Access to a weekly group circuit class specifically for individuals with long term neurological conditions, delivered within a studio by the Level 4 Instructor. Session content will include practical exercises, educational element and 30 minute social opportunity.
• Includes access to all leisure centre facilities e.g. swimming pool, Aqua Relax sessions, fitness classes, gym, health classes etc

Circuit Class ‘Pay as you go’ offer (£3.60 charge per session) This option is there if individuals do not want to access the 12 week programme:

• A weekly group circuit class specifically for individuals with long term neurological conditions delivered by Level 4 qualified instructor. Session content will include practical exercises, educational element and 30 minute social opportunity.
• Prior booking is required before attending the first session.
• Before the first session a short consultation will need to be completed with the Instructor.

 

A referral form will need to be completed in order for an individual to access these activities. The referral form needs to be sent to [email protected] or by post.

Wednesday 26th June, 3.15pm – 4.30pm at Macclesfield Leisure Centre onwards

Thursday 27th June, 1.15pm – 2.15pm at Crewe Lifestyle Centre onwards
