First Aid at Work (FAW)

This course is the most comprehensive first aid & paediatric first aid course. It covers a wide range of CPR & first aid skills & equips candidates with the ability to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries & illnesses, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.

We now offer this course combined with Paediatric First Aid at Work meaning that you get two qualifications for the price of one. This course is therefore ideal for anyone working in schools or childcare settings.

The courses comply with all government legislation for first aid and paediatric first aid cover in the workplace.

The qualifications are Ofqual accredited and valid for three years as of the date of assessment, making it suitable for all individuals, businesses and industries, enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and is generally delivered over three consecutive days although alternative options are available. Candidates must attend all sessions of this course.

The course comprises practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

A range of subjects are covered including:

  • Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • How to manage a casualty who is in shock
  • How to assess an incident
  • How to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • How to manage a casualty with a minor injury
  • How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • How to manage a casualty with external bleeding
  • How to conduct a secondary survey
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with burns and scalds
  • How to provide first aid to a casualty with a suspected major illness
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis

Cancellations & Refunds

Wherever possible we will transfer you to an alternate course.

Refund policy:

  • Full refunds will only be issued with more than 28 days written notice.
  • Cancellations with 14 to 28 days notice will receive a 50% refund
  • No refunds will be made for cancellations with less than 14 days notice (except in exceptional circumstances).
  • All refunds will be subject to an administration fee.

Refunds will not be issued for candidates who have stated that they can meet the minimum requirements / pre-requisites of a course and then are unable to do so.
