Everybody Announces Winner of Lifetime Membership Competition

On 4th March 2015, Everybody Sport and Recreation announced by video message (www.youtube.com/watch?v=isTw3PmiA-Y) the winner of a lifetime membership which is part of the Everybody Challenge; an intiative that has captured the interest of hundreds of people in Cheshire East  since launching in November 2014.

The competition ran for three months as people from all over Cheshire East signed themselves up to take part in at least 30 minutes of exercise five times a week. Watch Everybody Challenge Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uf4W-YyVD9Y

In return they would not only start to see significant health benefits but be entered into a prize draw to win a lifetime membership with Everybody Leisure.

Robert Evans, 47, from Eaton Road, Alsager claimed the prize and commented, ‘I was surprised, overwhelmed and delighted when I found out I had won, I could not quite believe it when I saw my name flash up on the video.  I have been an Everybody member for over a year using the gym and pool at both Alsager and Congleton.’

Rob is currently training for a number of events including the Cheshire Triathlon which is held at Nantwich Pool in the summer. He is pleased as this prize will help him to reach his fitness goals this year.

He continued, ‘I have always been a keen runner however I knew I needed to do different exercises to improve my technique and train for events. The fitness instructors at Alsager set me on a programme and I took adult swimming lessons too. When I saw the Everybody Challenge initiative I knew it would be the step I needed to take to workout regularly and keep on track with my training. I never thought I would actually win the competition for a lifetime membership!’

The prize gives Robert access to the leisure providers 15 centres across Cheshire East including top of the range fitness suites, swimming pools and group fitness classes for as long as the leisure facilities are managed by Everybody Leisure.

Peter Hartwell, CEO is proud of all those who have already signed up to the challenge but insists there is still more to come from the initiative, ‘We are honoured to be able to present Robert with leisure for life and this is only the beginning for the Everybody Challenge. We are working hard to help people in Cheshire East get active and we will be launching the next stage #TeamEverybody this month.’

Anyone can take on the Everybody Challenge from the athletes, volunteers and sports clubs who recently entered the Everybody Awards, to children, teenagers, parents and grandparents just wanting to live longer and lead a more active life.

Everybody Sport and Recreation have been following members who have taken on the challenge and are now leading healthier lives.

Peter continued, ‘We urge people to keep signing up so we can continue to tell the stories of those making great achievements.’
