£386 raised for the Everybody Foundation in Mince Pie Bake Off
Everybody Leisure Facilities across Cheshire East held a Mince Pie Bake Off during December to help raise money for the new Everybody Foundation.
Everybody staff got busy in the kitchen, baking a selection of mince pies and other festive treats to sell in leisure centre reception areas on the lead up to Christmas. .
Holmes Chapel Community Centre also raffled off a hamper of goodies donated by the local Co-operative store, whilst the Mayor of Crewe Marilyn Houston joined the Crewe Lifestyle team to judge the best bakes! Customers at Shavington and Sandbach Leisure Centre purchased mince pies after their workout in the gym and visitors to Macclesfield Leisure Centre were greeted by a selection of cakes as they went for a swim.
A fantastic £386 was raised from purchases of the mince pies, which will now help to provide grants to support individuals and groups to promote a healthy and active lifestyle in Cheshire East.
Kerry Shea, Director of Health and Finance commented, ‘We are very proud of the success of our first official fundraiser, the Mince Pie Bake Off. This success means that we are well on our way to offering grants to individuals and voluntary groups across our Borough.
‘We will be promoting some new challenges for you all to support and will start distributing money to those that need it in the New Year.’
