Everybody Leisure goes on tour for Men’s Health Week 2017.

Everybody Leisure’s Lifestyle Coach Reece Hobson (Left) and Weight Management Assistant Chris Mottershaw (Right).

This year’s Men’s Health Week campaign focused on excess weight around the stomach because of the serious increased risks this can have on our health such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, high blood pressure and much more.

Everybody Leisure’s Lifestyle Coaches provided free health checks, health and lifestyle advice and free healthy lunches to staff at NHS Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Cheshire East Council, NHS South Cheshire Clinical Commissioning group,  East Cheshire NHS Trust and MCHFT Leighton Hospital.

The Lifestyle Coaches from Everybody Leisure were there to give advice on how staff can improve their health and wellbeing through a range of funded health programmes which Everybody Leisure delivers such as, helping people to become more active, lose weight, eat healthyfalls prevention programmes and much more.

80 health checks were carried out on staff for Men’s Health Week, which included height, weight, BMI, waist measurement, blood pressure and resting heart rate. As a result of having a health check so far 10 members of staff have signed up to make changes to their health and lifestyle.

Each member of staff who had a health check was given a free healthy lunch provided by Everybody Leisure’s catering service Taste for Life, as well as a free one day pass to use at any of their facilities.

“The events were a huge success, hearing how grateful staff were for us to go into their workplace to help them was just great to hear. Thank you to all of our partners on this campaign, it was great to work so closely with Cheshire East Council and the NHS and we look forward to working with you on many more campaigns.” Says Donna Williamson, Health and Wellbeing Manager Everybody Sport and Recreation.
