Baroness Grey-Thompson announced as host for the Everybody Awards 2019

Everybody Sport and Recreation are holding their prestigious Everybody Awards on the 11th October 2019. The event will be held at the stunning Crewe Hall, located in Cheshire. The night is due to be inspirational with many success stories from sporting clubs, volunteers, organisations and individuals from the region.

This year, the awards evening will be hosted by the incredible Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Paralympic athlete, DBE, and crossbench peer. Tanni has had an incredible career, with 16 Paralympic medals to her name – 11 of which are gold – and 13 world championship medals.

Tanni will be sharing her inspiring story of how she became one of the UK’s most successful Paralympic athletes, competing from 1984 to 2007. During her career, Tanni broke an amazing 30 world records on the track. As the chair of UKActive the Baroness will also be sharing her thoughts on getting the nation more active and healthy.

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson has stated,

I am extremely proud to be invited to take part in such an inspirational community event; I look forward to meeting everyone involved with the awards and hearing their stories and celebrating their achievements. I encourage all the local communities to get involved with and to nominate all the sports, health and wellbeing heroes they know so we can recognise their hard work

Everybody Sport and Recreation are delighted to have Tanni at the event, which they will be the headline sponsor for this year. The trust will celebrate its 5th birthday this year and are elated that they have been able to get Tanni involved in their celebrations.

Speaking on Tanni’s involvement in the event, Andrew Kolker, Chairman of Everybody Sport and Recreation commented,

Having an athlete as successful as  Baroness Tanni as a key note speaker is an extremely exciting thing for us, Baroness Tanni is an inspiration and we can’t wait for everyone at the Everybody Awards to meet her and hear her story.
