Being a Walking Netball host is quite amazing, you get to meet so many different people. Your job is just to get them back on court and to fall back in love with the game they played at school.
Annette Wallace from, Nether Alderley, is one of our Walking Netball hosts who runs sessions at Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Poynton and Alderley Park. Annette has been running the sessions for 5 months now, as when she retired, she looked for activities to do in her area. Annette shared,
“I hadn’t played netball since school so I was extremely apprehensive, but I needn’t have been as the ladies were extremely friendly, very welcoming, as well as being great fun.”
Annette has shown how fun and rewarding a Walking Netball host can be and encourages anyone with an underlying interest to give it a go.
“Everybody paid for the one day Walking Netball Host course with the emphasis to have fun and being inclusive. It also gave me the confidence to join and volunteer with the Back to Netball sessions with Everybody Sport & Recreation.”
If you don’t already have the qualification you will be able to attend a Walking Netball host training day, which will be paid for by Everybody Sport and Recreation.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with good planning and organisational skills. Overall, you will be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others.
Hours: Casual – the Walking Netball sessions will be Wednesdays 10.00am – 11.00am
Salary Grade ITC 2: £11.08 per hour
