Making Fitness Part of Everyday Life - Ash’s Story

By Lani Barbara April 30, 2026

Ash PAshley, or better known as Ash, is 22 years old and lives in Nantwich. He joined Everybody six years ago, looking for something simple and consistent he could stick with alongside college, work and everyday life. Like a lot of people starting out, Ash wanted a routine that would fit around him, not something that felt overwhelming or hard to maintain.

Back then, he was focused on finding a space that felt accessible, welcoming and realistic. Somewhere he could turn up, feel comfortable, and make training part of his normal week.

From day one, the gym became Ash’s go-to. Nantwich Leisure Centre made it easy to build a routine, even when life was busy. Over time, that routine stuck.

Now, Ash trains around six days a week. The gym is where he spends most of his time, working consistently on strength and stamina. And the results speak for themselves. One milestone he’s particularly proud of is reaching a 135kg bench press, a personal best he worked incredibly hard to achieve.

But it’s not just about physical progress.

Ash says the gym has played a huge role in supporting his mental health and wellbeing too. Training gives him a break from the everyday stress and a chance to reset. It’s become a place where he can switch off, focus on himself and feel good afterwards.

There’s been a social side as well. Through Everybody, Ash has met plenty of people who share the same interests. That sense of community has boosted his confidence and widened his social circle which was something he didn’t expect when he first signed up.

Outside the gym, Ash keeps active by playing football with friends most weekends and heading out for a round of golf once a week. And he’s open to trying even more in the future.

Ash isn’t done yet. His focus now is on continuing to build strength, staying consistent and seeing where his fitness journey takes him next. Whether that’s trying new activities, setting fresh goals or just keeping that routine going, he’s keen to keep moving forward.

And that’s what Everybody is all about, supporting people at every stage of their journey.
