Leisure Charity Celebrates Five Award Nominations

Everybody Health and Leisure are honoured to be finalists in five award categories across the South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards and North East Cheshire Business Awards.
Everybody are finalists for 2 awards at the North East Cheshire Business Awards including:
1) Apprentice of the Year
Mia Jennings is completing her Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship and has been nominated for ‘Apprentice of the Year’ in both the South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards and North East Cheshire Business Awards.
Everybody confirm Mia is making fantastic progress and has a natural flare for all things HR. She is a true people person who understands the role of driving business forward and making a difference to local communities.
Mia Jennings, Human Resources Apprentice at Everybody Health and Leisure shares:
“My career in HR so far has been amazing! I have had so many fantastic opportunities and have been exposed to many different HR scenarios. I decided that I didn’t want to go to university and that an apprenticeship would be perfect for me as I would gain a recognised qualification and very valuable experience.“
2) Best Company to Work For
Everybody’s organisational culture is a massive factor in not only attracting staff to work for the Charity but also with employee retention.
One of Everybody’s 8 key commitments is to, “Create local jobs for local people with 100 to be recruited into leisure, catering and hospitality, business support and apprenticeship roles”, showing the charities commitment to supporting staff and providing opportunities for people in Cheshire East.
Katie Harrop, Head of People & Organisational Development at Everybody Health and Leisure commented:

Everybody are also finalists for the South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards, in the following categories:
3) Employer of the Year
Everybody submitted a nomination for, ‘Employer of the Year’, for their highlighted commitment to support and develop their workforce.
Richard Roeton, Senior Manager, Learning & Development at Everybody shared:
“In our 2021 Staff Survey 89% of people stated that they felt proud to work for Everybody and 86% stated they speak positively about us to friends and family and would recommend us as an employer.”
Everybody supports staff and aids in their development through their e-learning system to provide a wider range of in-depth and bite-size courses. They believe they have established themselves as an employer of choice through their commitment and investment to their staff and facilities.
4) Contribution to the Community
A new innovative project created and funded by Everybody has sparked a nomination for the ‘Contribution to the Community’ award.
The long COVID-19 rehabilitation exercise programme was aimed at local residents, working to help them recover from on going symptoms. Over the course of twelve sessions, patients work with a rehabilitation specialist Instructor who designs a detailed recovery plan.

“We’re honoured to be recognised for our work in the community, supporting health colleagues and residents in the recovery of Long- COVID-19. As a leading health and wellbeing charity our diverse leisure provision plays an important role in health improvement, by supporting people to be physically active and increasing individual and community resilience.”
This Health programme supports one of Everybody’s 8 community commitments including, “Deliver targeted health schemes such as exercise referral, long covid and specialist rehabilitation to over a 1000 people in Cheshire East.”
