This Black Friday, why not step away from the commercial offers and do something different? Our health and fitness charity, Everybody, is encouraging members to take part in Black Friday Workout Challenges that are designed to help you stay active, challenge yourself and make a positive impact on the community.
By joining in you’re not only taking a step towards your fitness goals but also supporting our aim which is to provide ‘Leisure for Life’.
Why Join a Black Friday Workout Challenge?
Black Friday may be known for shopping, but it’s also a fantastic time to kick-start new goals and routines before the Christmas period. Workout challenges can help you stay active, relieve stress and maintain your fitness momentum through the colder months. Plus, by joining our charity-focused challenges, you’re part of something bigger, your participation directly supports our programmes, from fitness classes for all ages and abilities to educational targeted sessions.
Here’s What to Expect in Our Black Friday Challenges:
1. The 10,000 Steps Challenge
Walking is a simple but powerful way to improve your fitness and mental health. Our 10,000 Steps Challenge invites participants to hit a step count goal each day from Black Friday to the end of the weekend. This is perfect for all fitness levels and you can join with friends or family to keep each other motivated. Remember to post your results in our dedicated Facebook MemberZone group.
Tip: Use a fitness tracker to monitor your progress and see how small, active steps add up quickly!
2. HIIT Blast Challenge
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is an efficient way to burn calories, boost your metabolism and build strength in a short amount of time. The HIIT Blast Challenge includes three daily 15-minute HIIT sessions, with each workout targeting a different area: lower body, upper body and full body. Jump in for one, two, or all three sessions each day – no equipment is needed, just your energy!
3. Swimathon Challenge
Attention to all enthusiastic swimmers! Whether you’re a beginner or a dedicated swimmer, we’re challenging you to join us in swimming a combined distance of 1,000 meters or beyond during the Black Friday weekend.
You can monitor your achievements using our ‘SwimTag’ device throughout the weekend. SwimTag is a wearable technology band that keeps track of your performance in the pool. Simply enquire at reception during your next visit to borrow a SwimTag band for free and enhance your session!
4. Run, Walk, or Cycle 5K
This challenge is designed for all ability levels and can be completed at your own pace, making it perfect for runners, walkers, or cyclists. Plan a route that suits you and make the commitment to finish a 5K on Black Friday. You can track your route and time, then share your results and photos with us by tagging in ‘ebleisure’ on Facebook and Instagram to celebrate your achievements!
