When will the works take place?

Refurbishment works are scheduled to begin on Monday 8th September and are expected to take approximately 4–5 weeks to complete.

We’re also replacing the group fitness studio flooring. This phase will start on Monday 29th September and last around one week. It will be back open on Monday 6th October. During this time, we’ve relocated as many classes as possible, where safe to do so, into The Brooklands Suite which is located in the Community Centre. Fitness classes are also run at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre as well as Walking Netball, Social Football, and racquet sports – if you fancy a change!

We’ll continue to keep customers updated as the project progresses.

What improvements are being made?

We’re upgrading the changing areas and spa, including:

  • Flooring, walls, ceilings, and lighting
  • Changing and shower cubicles, lockers and vanity units
  • Ventilation systems
  • Refurbishment of the jacuzzi area
  • …and more!

Will there be alternative changing facilities?

Yes. The Rugby changing rooms will be available, with separate areas for males and females. Showers will be available, but lockers will not, so please avoid leaving valuables in these areas.

Please note: These are the Rugby changing rooms, so when a match is scheduled, this area will be closed for the duration of the game.

Should I arrive ‘gym ready’?

Yes. We encourage all users to arrive in their exercise clothing for all activities during this period.

Will any activities be disrupted?

The gym and fitness classes at Holmes Chapel Community Centre will continue as normal while the changing rooms are upgraded. There will be disruption to fitness classes while the studio floor is replaced – between Monday 29th September and Monday 6th October (please refer to Question 1 in this FAQ page for further information about fitness classes). Staff and signage will be available to guide you to the temporary changing areas.

Will other parts of the centre remain open?

Yes. All other areas of the centre will remain open as usual.

Parking information

Contractors will be using part of the car park for a skip and vans. Please allow extra time for parking, especially during busy periods.

How can I stay updated?

We’ll share updates via the email linked to your Everybody membership. Fitness members can check and update their contact details by logging into the Everybody app. Updates will also be posted on the Holmes Chapel Community Centre Facebook page.
