The Everybody Foundation: Creating Opportunity Across Our Communities

EB Health & Leisure

As a health and leisure charity based in Cheshire East, we seek to make participation in any activity an enduring habit from the earliest years to later life. Our vision is to help people to live well and for longer by providing ‘Leisure for Life’.

At Everybody Health & Leisure, our purpose is simple: helping people live active, healthy lives. Through our leisure centres, programmes and services, we see every day the positive impact that physical activity and wellbeing can have. However, we also know that not everyone starts from the same place. Financial pressures, confidence, disability, transport and personal circumstances can all create barriers to getting involved.

That’s where the Everybody Foundation plays an important role:

The Foundation exists to support individuals and community organisations who are working to make health, fitness and wellbeing more accessible. At its core is a commitment to reducing inequality and ensuring that opportunity is not limited by circumstance.

In recent years, the Foundation has focused primarily on supporting individuals, particularly children and young people, to remain active when cost or life circumstances might otherwise prevent this. From helping with the cost of memberships or equipment to offering targeted support during times of hardship, these grants have enabled many people to stay connected to sport and physical activity.

Behind each grant is a real outcome: a child continuing swimming lessons, a young person remaining part of a club, or a family finding confidence and routine through being active. These moments may seem small, but together they contribute to stronger, healthier communities.

Earlier this year, the success of Foundation February showed just how much colleagues and communities care about this work. The enthusiasm, fundraising and involvement across Everybody Health & Leisure helped raise vital funds and shine a spotlight on the Foundation’s impact. As a direct result of that success, we are now in a position to take the Foundation’s work a step further.

From 2026, the Everybody Foundation will introduce a new Impact Grant, offering funding of up to £5,000 to support a significant community project aligned with our core values. This marks an important development, extending support beyond individuals to grassroots organisations and clubs that play a key role within local communities.

The Impact Grant isn’t limited to traditional sports programmes. While physical activity remains central, the grant recognises the wider contribution that health and wellbeing initiatives make. Projects might focus on fitness, mental wellbeing, confidence building, inclusion, nutrition or creating welcoming spaces where people can move, connect and feel supported.

What matters most is impact. The Foundation is committed to supporting projects that reduce barriers, address inequalities and open up opportunities for people who may otherwise be excluded. Small charities, community groups, volunteer‑led clubs and not‑for‑profit organisations often achieve a great deal with limited resources, and this funding is designed to help them grow, strengthen or sustain work that is already making a difference.

As the Everybody Foundation continues to develop, its purpose remains unchanged: using our platform and collective effort to help people move more, feel better and live healthier lives.
