This year’s Everybody Awards was a great success!

This year our Everybody Awards were back and better than ever!

After a glittering evening ceremony at Mottram Hall near Macclesfield, we are please to share our list of finalists and winners.

Description

Someone who is inspiring our communities to be more active, reduce social isolation, or improve health and wellbeing. Nominees can be:

  • A teacher
  • A coach
  • A parent
  • A physical activity instructor
  • Anyone making a difference in their community who deserves recognition for their support and dedication.

Description:

A community initiative that is helping people be active or socialise with others in their community. This could be a sports or physical activity session, or a project that has positively impacted someone’s physical or mental wellbeing. Nominees can be:

  • A school
  • A sports club
  • A local organisation
  • A community group
  • An individual

Zoe Cooper – Right at Home South Cheshire

WinnerThe One Project Macclesfield for creating an innovative method to reducing waste that cannot be disposed of in a household environment

Description:

Someone who is a great example of pushing themselves to achieve in their sport. This award celebrates the amazing sporting achievements of people in Cheshire East. It’s open to anyone who has shown great dedication to their sport or is achieving impressive things, whether at a local, regional, national, or international level.

Nominees:

Lewis Lakin – Coach & Team GB Gymnastics Crewe

Scott Bailey – British Judoka

Emrys Williams – GB Underwater Hockey

Tom Pochin – Footballer at Macclesfield FC & National Championship Winner

WinnerScott Bailey for representing Great Britian and aiding other visually impaired athletes to learn Judo.

Description:

Someone who has spent many years and put in a lot of effort to help their local community get active and healthy. This could include:

  • Long service in coaching a sports team or club
  • Being influential in setting up a new sport or health activity or facility
  • Exceptional efforts in fundraising or supporting a charity or organization in Cheshire East that supports the health and wellbeing of the local community

The award was unanimously given to 83-year-old Terry Robinson, who has run 117 marathons since 1981, cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats and completed marathons across the globe.

Description:

Someone who has given their time to a local community group, sports club, or volunteer organisation to help them provide services to as many people as possible. This award is for local residents who go the extra mile, giving their time to run sessions or groups that encourage people to be more social and physically active. Nominees can be:

  • A volunteer
  • A grounds person
  • A parent or coach who supports local clubs
  • A health champion (someone promoting a health cause or helping people access key services)
  • A walk leader
  • And many more!

Nicola Wall – Macclesfield Satellites Swimming Club

Paul McIntyre – Nantwich Triathlon Club

Pat Adams – Holmes Chapel Community Volunteer

WinnerNicola Wall for her dedication and efforts into expanding who can attend competitive swimming classes

Description:

A person or organisation/club that has ensured that people of all abilities and backgrounds have been given the opportunity to access ways to improve their wellbeing through sports or activity initiatives.

This could be, but not limited to:

  • A school
  • Sports club
  • Local organisation
  • Community group

Ruby’s Fund – charity supporting children with disabilities

Steve Hodgson – The Football Academy Project

Georgie Phillips – Her-Place

Georgina Palmer – Park Lane School

WinnerRuby’s Fund for giving a lifeline for many children and young people across Cheshire East and their families and carers.

Chairman's Awards

The Chairman’s Award was given to Paul McIntyre for his efforts in uplifting, instilling confidence, and supporting the community. He is the creator The Dabber Dash and The Farmers Pants, designed to bring people together in sport.
