Everybody Leisure delivers health programmes as part of ‘One You’ Cheshire East.

Everybody Sport and Recreation is delighted to announce they will be delivering health programmes and cookery courses to Cheshire East residents as part of the new ‘One You’ Cheshire East launch.

‘One You’ is a national campaign created by Public Health England ‘To improve lifestyles, by reducing health inequalities.’ Support and help is available for smoking, drinking, eating and much more. As part of this national campaign, services across Cheshire East have come together to provide help and support for Cheshire East residents to access.

Everybody Sport and Recreation is encouraging Cheshire East residents to look after their health by offering support on eating well, moving more and losing weight with a variety of different programmes.

“We are really pleased to have been awarded four themes of the One You Cheshire East contract. This contract will allow us to work with even more people, improving their overall health and maximise the life expectancy of Cheshire East residents.” Says Kerry Shea, Director of Health, Everybody Sport and Recreation.

Active Lives

Active Lives is a programme designed to provide individual support for people who want to become physically active, delivered by highly qualified Lifestyle Coaches. These activities include led walks, swimming, racket sports, walking football and much more!

If you are 18 years and over, doing less than thirty minutes of exercise per week and need motivation to become physically active you may be eligible for a free 12 week programme.

Be Steady Be Safe- fALLS prevention programme

Be Steady Be Safe is a FREE 24 week programme consisting of balance retraining exercise classes, prescribed home exercise and education on falls risk factors.

To access the programme you must be a Cheshire East resident aged 65 years and over and have one or more of the following:

  • Fallen in the last 12 months
  • Poor balance and strength
  • Osteoporosis

Re-Shape

Losing Weight has never been so easy with Everybody’s Re-Shape programme. Re-Shape is a weight management programme that helps adults make lifestyle changes that will enable them to lose weight and improve their health. Learn how to overcome barriers to weight loss, make sensible food choices and become more active.

Reshape is a 12 week programme for people aged 18+ years, living in Cheshire East, who have a BMI of 30- 39.9. If you want to lose weight and start making lifestyle changes you may be eligible for this FREE programme.

Taste for life Cookery Courses

Brand new six week Taste for Life cookery courses are now available across Cheshire East. These courses are to develop your cookery skills by cooking a variety of quick and easy meals to take home, whilst learning about the benefits of healthy eating at low cost.

On Wednesday 30th November Holmes Chapel Community Centre held the ‘One You’ Cheshire East stake holder launch event.  An official public launch will take place early this year, there will be a range of events and activities to attend across Cheshire East. You can follow One You Cheshire East on Twitter: @OneYouCE or Facebook: One You Cheshire East for updates on the public launch.
