Everybody shortlisted for ‘Heart Safe Gym of the Year’

By Everybody Sport July 29, 2014

Everybody Sport and Recreation has recently been shortlisted for the ‘Heart Safe Gym of the Year’ award for our commitment in providing a thorough provision of Automatic External defibrillators (AED).

In the last 12 months Everybody Leisure has trained over 250 of our staff, from lifeguards to managers, ensuring multiple members of staff are skilled in their use during all of our opening times. We have also added AED training to our Lifeguard course programme to ensure that future leisure professionals, no matter where they work, have this invaluable skill.

Richard Roeton, Leisure Facilities Development Officer commented:

“We believe that by investing in our staff we can provide the best service to our customers in providing safe programmes as well as the skills to be effective in an emergency situation.”

A number of our facilities are also now lifestyle centres that share space with providers of Adult social care and provide a safe environment for physical activity. In addition a new facility will open in Crewe in late 2015 that will also have a children’s social care provision.

Eight large secondary schools within the area are shared sites with leisure facilities that also now benefit from the availability of AED units within their facilities should the need arise.

Everybody Leisure is committed to the promotion and preservation of good health including, but not limited to, through community participation in healthy recreation.

The UK Heart Safe Awards take place in Manchester on the 2nd October. This is the second year running Everybody has been shortlisted for the UK Heart Safe Awards and we will be announcing the outcome after the event.
