14th-20th May- Get Involved And Wear Something Green With Us.

14th- 20th May 2018 is Mental Health Awareness Week and we are encouraging you to come a long to our gyms, swim sessions, classes or activities in something green. Not only this, we will be running FREE Mindfulness and walking sessions during this week for everyone to attend, please click on your preferred date below to register your place on one of our Mindfulness sessions:

Mental Health Foundation shares fantastic advice how we can look after our mental health and the mental health of others:

  • “Talk about your feelings- Talking about your feelings can help you stay in good mental health and deal with times when you feel troubled.
  • Take a break- Taking a break is good for us. A change of scene or a change of pace can be good for your mental health.
  • Eat well- What we eat may affect how we feel. A diet that’s good for your physical health is also good for your mental health.
  • Keep in touch- Strong family ties and friendships can help you deal with the stresses of life and maintain good mental health.
  • Stay active- Regular exercise can boost your self-esteem and can help you concentrate, sleep, and look and feel better.
  • Drink sensibly- We often drink alcohol to change our mood, but drinking is not a good way to manage difficult feelings.
  • Do something you are good at- Enjoying yourself can help beat stress.Do an activity you’re good at to improve your mood.
  • Ask for help- None of us are superhuman. If things are getting too much for you and you feel you can’t cope, ask for help.
  • Care for others- Doing good for others does you good. Take time to care for others to improve both your and their mental health.
  • Accept who you are- We’re all different. Accept and be proud of who you are rather than wishing you were more like someone else.”

We can support you in so many ways, whether you want to eat healthy, stay active (gym, swim, classes, free support to become more active.) taking a break by attending one of our classes, activities or sessions, and what’s best, friendships are formed at our facilities and many of our members come a long to classes and activities with their friends or family so why not bring them a long and do things together.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we have teamed up with lot’s of providers and services to raise awareness of mental health and the services available across Cheshire to help and support you. These include events, support services, activities, workshops and much more. To find out more, simply follow our hashtag on Facebook and Twitter #GoodMentalHealth4Cheshire.

If you are visiting our facilities during Mental Health Awareness Week, look out for our pledge boards and you can share how you are going to pledge to reduce your stress. Don’t forget to share your pledges or story with us, how you have helped to reduce your stress, use the hashtag #GoodMentalHealth4Cheshire.

By sharing ideas we are all supporting each other.
