Everybody is awarded Investors In People status for a further three years.

Everybody Sport and Recreation are extremely proud to announce the outcome of their recent Investors In People assessment after being successfully re accredited as an Investor in People.

The Assessor acknowledged that Everybody should be particularly commended given the added stretch that the new version 6 standard now provides.

The findings revealed many strengths and illustrated the business growth through its strong practices and culture with clear evidence of continued development since the time of the organisation’s initial accreditation when it was only in its infancy.

The assessment also indicated that the organisation is demonstrating practice above the developed level criteria of the new standard such as, open and transparent leadership, positive team working, a commitment to listen to staff ideas and act on them, as well as a reward and recognition strategy that is regularly reviewed to ensure it is fit for purpose.

Other Assessor comments included:

  1. Good levels of ownership evident across the organisation, where people regularly spoke of being trusted to carry out their roles and take decisions as appropriate, all of which do impact on levels of performance.
  2. A culture of continuous improvement where people’s ideas and suggestions are actively encouraged at both an organisational and local level.
  3. A clear commitment to also continually improving how the organisation leads and manages staff
  4. An effective volunteering scheme is in place which was regularly referenced as being extremely well led and managed.

Everybody Sport and Recreation employs over 900 Staff and over 50 Volunteers which a number were interviewed to gain the internationally recognised award.

Peter Hartwell, CEO shares “I am delighted to confirm we have retained our accreditation for the next three years. This reflects well on our culture and the achievements of everyone across our organisation. After 10 days of interviews with the inspector, it is great to see we are meeting this national standard as we continue to invest, to create more job opportunities and to grow ourselves and our charity for the benefit of all. It has certainly been a very satisfying couple of weeks, when our hard work and perseverance has been recognised and rewarded.”

The Trust has developed a number of aims including growing an ethical and sustainable business, providing a great customer experience and developing our people to be the best; all of which are demonstrated in achieving the Investors in People accreditation. Plaques to recognise the award will now take pride of place on display in all of the Everybody Leisure facilities.
