One You Cheshire East’ Re-tender Outcome  – Everybody Sport and Recreation

In late 2016, our charity [Everybody Sport and Recreation] was selected, following a competitive tender process, to deliver a range of health programmes to Cheshire East residents as part of the new ‘One You’ Cheshire East launch.

Over the last three years Everybody designed, mobilised and has successfully delivered physical activity, including during pregnancy, falls prevention, adult and child weight management and healthy eating programmes; over achieving on every single Key Performance Indicator during that time.

Highlights of our successful delivery include :-

  • 97% of people accessing our weight management programme lost weight
  • 91% of completers on our Active Lives programme increased their physical activity levels
  • 71% of people accessing our programmes have reported an improvement in their mental health
  • 81% of people are more mobile following attendance at our Falls Prevention classes
  • Over 90% of people have improved their cookery skills and/or knowledge
  • 44% have gone from hypertensive to a normal blood pressure reading
  • Everybody has achieved a 9.5/10 customer satisfaction rating

These achievements led us to anticipate that the the One You contract would be extended for the final two years. However earlier this year Cheshire East Council chose to put the One You contract out for re-tender.  The outcome of this process has now been decided and we are extremely disappointed to announce that after the 31st October 2019, Everybody Sport and Recreation will no longer be the provider of One You Cheshire East.

Despite this outcome, as a Health and Wellbeing charity based in Cheshire East, we will continue to offer healthy lifestyle services to local people to help them lose weight, get more active, meet new people and manage pain and medical conditions. We will continue to work alongside our established health partners including the CCG’s, GP’s and health professionals to help people to live well and for longer.

This change to the One You contract does not affect our recent extension to the  ESCAPE-Pain programme, our neurological conditions pilot and existing  specialist rehabilitation classes for Cardiac, Cancer and COPD; nor does this impact the delivery of our healthy walking programmes, family activities and disability and inclusion sessions.

None of our successes would have been possible without the outstanding work of our amazing team, including lifestyle coaches, health and wellbeing leads, falls and cookery tutors, health and fitness advisors and many more. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to publicly thank them for their dedication to our delivery of the One You contract and other health programmes over the last 3 years.

We are also extremely grateful to the thousands of customers that have taken part in all of these programmes, helping us to achieve the exceptional customer satisfaction rating of 9.5 out of 10.
