An increased interest in Women’s Walking Football has led to Everybody Health and Leisure launching these sessions at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre. Women’s Walking Football is a weekly session, ideal for women looking to increase their exercise and activity levels in a fun and friendly environment, but also offering players a challenge.

Donna who attends Walking Football shares-

“I would recommend anyone wondering if the Everybody ladies walking football sessions is for them or not to come and give it a go even if you haven’t ever played football before. I’ve only been attending for 6 or so weeks and am really enjoying the sessions. There’s a full mix of age, ability and football experience including some that have not played before. There’s no need to worry about rules like offside. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming including Simon and Dave who lead the sessions.”

Walking Football sessions are a great way for people to get back into the sport they love or even try something completely new. It offers women a chance to socialise, whilst keeping active in a controlled manor, the sport has been growing nationally both at professional level and grass roots level. It’s definitely a session to book on to.

Donna continues –

“The sessions are very relaxed, enjoyable and we have a laugh which always make exercise easier and just because its walking football doesn’t mean to say it doesn’t get you puffing and panting and your heart rate up, but you can go at your own pace. There’s no pressure. I’m in my mid 50’s and am the heaviest and most out of shape I’ve ever been in my life and still finding the sessions enjoyable and manageable.”
