Everybody Health & Leisure member, Malcolm Stoddard , completed Everybody’s 12 week Phase IV Cardiac Rehabilitation programme with Specialist Health Advisor Victoria. Malcolm joined the programme after completing the NHS Phase III Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme at Wilmslow Leisure Centre, after open heart surgery.

Before taking part, Malcolm lacked self-confidence after his cardiac event and as a result became sedentary throughout his day-to-day life. Since taking part in Everybody’s Phase IV Cardiac Rehab programme, Malcolm’s fitness level and self-confidence have significantly improved.

Malcolm Stoddard, Everybody Healthy member shares:

“I got involved in Everybody’s Phase IV Cardiac Rehab programme as I needed to continue my recovery journey, improve my confidence and reduce any fear I was feeling. After having a heart attack, I needed to learn how to socialise again. Everybody’s health team have been fantastic and really supportive, guiding me onto the right track. The 12-week Cardiac Rehabilitation programme has been fantastic, I enjoyed the social aspect of it and met some great people.”

Malcolm is now physically active on a regular basis, achieving physical activity guidelines of 150 minutes of exercise weekly. He attends the gym, cycles and enjoys walking his dog, all contributing towards improving his mental wellbeing.

Malcolm continued:

“My health and fitness before starting the programme was poor. My fitness has greatly improved, and I have gained my confidence back. I recommend Everybody’s Health programmes to anybody and who has been in a similar situation to me. I believe it quickens up the recovery process!.”

Victoria Clarke, Specialist Health Advisor at Everybody Health & Leisure shared:

“Malcolm has worked very hard over the past 12 weeks. He is very motivated and dedicated in attending the classes on a weekly basis. His fitness and confidence has improved dramatically since I first met him. He has a more positive outlook on life and now knows his limits. Malcolm has been a pleasure to work with.”
