Free drop-in event at Crewe Lifestyle Centre for people living with Parkinson’s

With World Parkinson’s Day taking place in April, Everybody Health and Leisure are raising awareness of the support available at Crewe Lifestyle Centre for those living with Parkinson’s.
The registered health and leisure charity will be providing a free drop-in event during their weekly Bike Therapy for People Living with Parkinson’s dedicated group cycling class on Monday 15th April at Crewe Lifestyle Centre.
Everybody Health and Leisure are the only ones in Cheshire offering Bike Therapy for People Living with Parkinson’s, it is an emerging exercise for people living with Parkinson’s which they are leading the way in the area.
The event is a chance for residents, health professionals and local organisations to come along to watch the Bike Therapy for People Living with Parkinson’s dedicated group cycling class in action. Stay for a free tea and coffee and get the chance to speak to the instructor and the Everybody Healthy team for more information about the class and chat to current participants who take part in the class about the benefits they have noticed since taking part.
Current participants will receive the class free of charge on the day. Anyone coming to the drop-in event who would like to take part in the classes, will receive a voucher to redeem their first Bike Therapy for People Living with Parkinson’s dedicated group cycling class for free.
Classes include riding an indoor stationary bicycle, which has been shown to reduce Parkinson’s motor symptoms by as much as 35%, classes are tailored to each individual and cater for all needs and abilities.

Our Bike Therapy for People Living with Parkinson’s dedicated group cycling classes have been really popular since we launched in February and we want to continue raising awareness of these sessions to support even more people living with Parkinson’s.
Research shows that, people with Parkinson’s experience significant benefits from pushing pedals on a regular basis and has been shown to reduce motor symptoms by as much 35% and reduce tremor, reduce bradykinesia, reduce rigidity, improve aerobic capacity, improve mood, improve cognitive function and increase joy and social connections.”
