Sandbach Leisure Centre is to undergo a full gym refurbishment with brand-new Technogym equipment, integrated technology and redecoration.

To allow the development works to go ahead, the gym will be closed from Thursday 6th June and reopen Monday 1st July.

I’ve paid my membership for this month; will I be reimbursed?

The swimming pool, group fitness classes and sports activities will not be affected by the temporary closure of the gym.

As part of your Everybody membership, you automatically get access to neighbouring leisure centres including Alsager, Crewe, Congleton, Holmes Chapel. If you have any questions about the closure or your membership you can email our customer experience team at: [email protected]

Are there other activities I can try while the gym is closed?

We will be adding a brand new class to the Sandbach timetable! Train classes are small-group, HIIT-inspired workouts blended with functional training equipment. There’s also group cycle, circuits, Body Pump and loads more. Ready to try? You can find out more or book online here

What improvements are taking place?

All the improvements!

• All cardio and resistance kit is being replaced and upgraded with latest high-quality Technogym kit. Among other amazing benefits, this upgrade means you can connect your fitness data through mywellness to track your workouts and progress!
• The current Boditrax (body scan) kit will be replaced with a new Tanita station. Find out more about Tanita body composition analysis here.
• A fresh new-look; new redecoration, wall graphics, led lighting, mirrors, and feature floors.
• Bespoke functional training rig (by Escape fitness) and new functional training area.
• New plate loaded kit, so you can add more weight, lift heavier and get stronger!
• We will be adding in a Skillrun to the cardio area. This is a treadmill like no other. Get ready for fast-paced running, intense climbs and descents. Plus, 30% more training space than an normal treadmill and instant speed and gradient changes.
• Introducing MyZone. Using heart rate monitors, MyZone tracks workout output and connects with the gym TV screens to give real-time feedback.

I have an Everybody Options membership – Can I use the facilities at Holmes Chapel Community Centre?

Yes – options members will be able to access Holmes Chapel Community Centre while the gym at Sandbach is closed for refurbishment.

Will the closure affect fitness classes or swimming?

No, it’s just the gym. Everything else will be the same as normal.

Will it be noisy?

As always, we’ll try to keep your experience to the highest standard. We don’t expect the work to have any excessive noise impact.

Will there be less parking than normal?

We don’t anticipate disruption to parking, however there may be some controlled areas when large vehicles require access for delivering all the brand new equipment!
