Keeping the Kids Active During the School Holidays

Are you looking for holiday activities to keep the children entertained?

School holidays can be a great time for kids to relax and have fun, with every laugh. It’s an opportunity for them to take a break from their regular school routine and enjoy some leisure time. However, it’s also important to keep children active and engaged during this break. Maintaining a healthy balance between rest and play is the key!

There are various ways we can encourage children to stay active during school holidays. One effective approach is to involve them in physical activities that they enjoy. Everybody Active Holidays offers’ exciting days of activities keeping children active and healthy during the school holidays.

Top 3 holiday activity programmes:

Imagine leaving your kids with a holiday programme provider, knowing they will be kept active and entertained throughout the day, perfect right? Start your kids day with games and sports all aiming to engage the brain and get the body moving. Multi-sport activities ranging from Hockey, Football, Bench ball, Dodgeball and more! Engaging in these activities not only keeps them physically fit but also helps develop their co-ordination, teamwork skills and overall well-being.

Does your kids holiday provider include swimming in the activity programme? Everybody does! Swimming is proven to build endurance, support muscle growth and develop cardiovascular fitness. As stated by Swim England, swimming isn’t just fun, it also provides many health benefits which can help to keep your children healthy and happy at the same time, “Swimming keeps your child’s heart and lungs healthy, improves strength and flexibility, increases stamina and even improves balance and posture”. Knowing your young ones are safe and having fun during the school holidays is everything a parent wants. Whether you’re working, on holiday, or enjoying some much needed rest, your kids will benefit from staying active and socialising with other kids at the same time.

Everybody is for everyone. Every child no matter their age or ability should have access to active, fun filled school holidays programmes. Disability Holiday Activities are specifically designed for children and families with disabilities and additional needs, aiming to provide an inclusive and accessible experience for everyone involved. Our National Health Service says, “Kids need to be active for at least 60 minutes a day, with 30 minutes of this outside of school. This should include 3 sessions a week of activity that strengthens muscles and bones”. Giving your children the opportunity to make every new friend, learn something new and work towards greater independence, will also allow parents the all-important time they need to recharge.

To conclude, keeping the kids active during school holidays doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. Finding activities in your area they enjoy, making those sometimes long, drawn out school holidays, a fun experience for everyone. Let’s get active and ensure this holiday break is filled with laughter, adventure and physical activity!
