Community Connector Good Boost Volunteer

Our Community Connector roles are vital in helping people to socialise within the local community, encourage people to become more physically active and have lot’s of fun and laughter!

We are looking for Volunteers that can actively encourage, motivate and support participants attending our Good Boost water rehabilitation exercise sessions.

With a welcoming smile and lots of laughter you will be the connector making the difference.

What is a Community Connector Good Boost Volunteer?

What is Good Boost?

Good Boost is a water-based rehabilitation programme designed to be fun and beneficial for people with a range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Good Boost classes take place in our swimming pool, rather than a specifically-designed hydrotherapy pool, making it much more accessible than traditional aqua rehab sessions.

Musculoskeletal conditions include:

  • Back pain
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Osteoporosis

What does this volunteer role entail?

As a Community Connector for the Good Boost programme your role is to meet and greet participants at sessions, ensuring everyone knows where they are going, and new members are made to feel welcome, overcoming any anxieties.

You will have the option to either assist on the poolside or in the water (please note you do not have to get in the water with this role), encouraging, motivating and supporting participants throughout the session.

If anyone is having trouble with their Good Boost tablet or has any questions you will be able to assist accordingly. You are not required to prescribe exercise, this is the role of the Good Boost tablet.

Full training on the Good Boost tablet is provided.
