There’s a wide variety of careers a Leisure Team apprenticeship can lead you towards. Some of the examples include: Leisure Centre Manager, Operations or Area Manager, Swimming Teacher, Fitness Lead or Instructor, Personal Trainer, Receptionist and many more.
Working in one of our facilities with a swimming pool this apprenticeship will give you a broad introduction into leisure, where you will experience working in a number of different areas developing a wide range of skills and knowledge. This is the ideal entry level position for someone who would like a career within the leisure industry.
The role will require people to work very closely with members of staff and customers, so applicants will need good people skills as well as being happy to work in a variety of situations and teams.
This role will include qualifications in Lifeguarding, Swimming Teaching and Gym Instructing. Candidates will need to have a relatively good swimming ability & will undertake a swimming test as part of the application process. Salary (subject to final job evaluation):
Year 1 (months 1 to 6): £10,611 per annum
Year 1 (months 7 to 12): £12,540 per annum
Year 2 (months 1 to 6): £14,469 per annum
18 month apprentice programme
37 hours per week including evenings & weekends (operational roles)
Performance based pay increases every 6 months
25 days annual leave (rising to 30 days after 5 years service)
