Important guidance on returning to our Learn To Swim Scheme

Here you will find information regarding returning to swimming lessons at Everybody Sport and Recreation. The bullet points below are guidance applicable to all of our Leisure Centres, in addition to this each facility has its own specific guidance which can also be found below:

  • For each child attending swimming lessons to have a max of one accompanying adult to bring to a swimming lesson
  • Please keep 2m apart wherever possible
  • We encourage parents/guardians to wear a facemask on arrival to the building and when watching swimming lessons
  • Please use hand sanitisers on entry and exit to the building
  • Children on Ducklings or Adult and Child lessons must bring an adult to swim with them in the water. ***We are not able to provide in water assistance at this time***
  • Please follow directional signage and any one way systems that are in place at the centre
  • Lesson times are staggered by 5 mins intervals, please arrive and depart promptly
  • Please bring your child ‘beach ready’ to swim, please also fit their swim hat prior to the lesson starting
  • Lockers are available for use, if needed
  • Where possible please shower your child at home
  • Please bring your child to poolside as normal to hand over to the swimming teacher. Please wear overshoes/remove shoes if entering a poolside area
  • For Duckling and Stage 1 (and if needed stage 2) children please place 3 armband discs on each arm before leaving to view the lessons. We are not able to provide a swim assistant in the water at this time.
  • All equipment is sanitised between individual uses in pool water
  • Please be aware your child’s ability may not be the same as were they finished in March and it can take a number of weeks/months to build the strength and skill back up. Please be patient while the teacher focuses on this.
  • When your child is ready to collect a badge and certificate please collect the following week on entrance to help us manage the traffic around reception areas
  • Please be aware that all teaching positions have been reviewed; please look out for our new pool layout posters around your venue for more information.

Please see below additional information, specific to your Leisure Centre:

*We are limiting the access to the viewing / waiting areas, to those parents of children under the age of 8 years, or those children with a specific dependency at Knutsford Leisure Centre, Sandbach Leisure Centre, Nantwich Swimming Pool, and Poynton Leisure Centre*

Alsager Leisure Centre- Please leave your child with their teacher and return to view the swimming lesson from the balcony viewing area. Please note this area has a maximum number  of spectators and preference is given to parents of younger children under 8 years. Please keep a 2 metre distance from other parents.

Crewe Lifestyle Centre-  Learner pool swimmers, please arrive and leave through the learner pool entrance, leave your child with their teacher and walk back through the changing room to the spectator viewing on poolside and in the café area.

Main pool swimmers, please arrive and leave through the main pool entrance, leave your child with their teacher and walk back through the changing room to the spectator viewing on poolside and in the café area.

Please note to ensure 2m distance, not all parents will be able to view from poolside, we are giving preference to swimmers under 8’s.

Nantwich Swimming Pool- For your swimming lesson time slot you will either use the red or the blue changing area alternating for each time block, your colour will be indicated on the TV on the way in. Please only use that colour changing zone on entry and exiting. Please leave your child with their teacher and exit via the same route in. Spectating for swimming lessons in the viewing area is very limited so we are limiting the access to the viewing / waiting areas, to those parents of children under the age of 8 years, or those children with a specific dependency.

Poynton Leisure Centre- Please bring your child to poolside via the corridor, leave them with their teacher and then exit back through the changing rooms. As the area for viewing lessons is restricted we are asking for only parents of stage 1 or stage 2 to stay in the poolside spectator area. For all other parents please wait outside until the end of the lesson and return to pick up your child via the same route.

Macclesfield Leisure Centre- Please enter poolside via the Sauna area and leave your child with their teacher as normal. Please then follow one system though the changing rooms and up to the viewing gallery. Return to pick up your child via the same route and collect them from poolside.

Wilmslow Leisure Centre- Please enter poolside via the changing area and leave your child with their teacher and return though the changing rooms to the reception area. Please note the viewing area and Café has a limited capacity and preference will be given to parents of younger parents, specifically under 8’s and please keep distance from other parents.

Sandbach Leisure Centre- Please enter through the changing rooms and bring your child to poolside area and leave back through the changing room to the spectator area upstairs. We are limiting the access to the viewing / waiting areas, to those parents of children under the age of 8 years, or those children with a specific dependency. Please keep 2m distance in this area. Once the lesson has finished please collect your child from poolside.

Knutsford Leisure Centre- Please enter through the changing rooms and bring your child to poolside area and leave back though the changing room to the spectator area upstairs. We are limiting the access to the viewing / waiting areas, to those parents of children under the age of 8 years, or those children with a specific dependency. Please keep 2m distance in this area. Once the lesson has finished please collect your child from poolside.
