Alpha Step Swim Lessons

Alpha Step is a 10 week block of water confidence / pool sessions, for young people with a disability or additional need, to encourage children to be more relaxed, have fun whilst developing basic safety awareness and swimming capability. The sessions will be in small groups, with an appropriate ratio, conducive to aid learning and support the swimmers needs.

The cost of a 10 week block is £45.00, these lessons will follow Swim England’s alpha step awards specifically designed for swimmers with SEND

Please note the Alpha Step lessons are not 1-2-1 lessons but will have a smaller group size (a maximum of 4) and the lessons will be adapted to meet the support needs of the swimmer where possible.

Once swimmers have completed the 10-week programme, they will have the opportunity to progress joining the Alpha Swim Scheme stages 1-4 depending on capability and availability. Alternative options may be offered such as inclusive public swimming or main stream lessons dependent on individual needs and capability.

Inclusive Swim sessions

These are an exclusive swim session for people of all ages with an impairment or SEND additional support need.  The Inclusive Swims are also a safe place for SEND families to swim and enjoy a quieter swim in the pool together.
