FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

10th JULY 2020

Everybody to Re-Open Leisure Centres from 25th July

Following recent guidance from central government and Public Health England and working together with Cheshire East Council, we have made the decision to open our services on a phased approach over the summer.

It is our priority to put the health and wellbeing of our customers and staff first and foremost and we have been working around the clock to ensure we can welcome you back to a safe and covid-19 secure leisure centre.

We are pleased to announce we will be opening our gym and group exercise classes at the following 6 leisure facilities on 25th July:

  • Alderley Park
  • Crewe Lifestyle Centre
  • Holmes Chapel Community Centre
  • Macclesfield Leisure Centre
  • Nantwich Swimming Pool
  • Wilmslow Leisure Centre

The above services will be available to pre-book activity slots via our website from Friday 17th July: www.everybody.org.uk.

Our phase 2 sites will be opening from 1st August for gym and group exercise classes:

  • Shavington Leisure Centre
  • Sandbach Leisure Centre
  • Alsager Leisure Centre and Sports Hub
  • Knutsford Leisure Centre
  • Barony Sports Complex

And our phase 3 will open on 1st September along with our 9 swimming pools:

  • Middlewich Leisure Centre
  • Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre
  • Congleton Leisure Centre
  • Poynton Leisure Centre

We will continue to review other indoor and outdoor sport activities and services.

Members will be contacted directly early next week with more information on our re-opening, centre opening hours, the measures we have put in place including bookable gym and group exercise sessions, plus specific information relating to their membership. As always, we are on hand to assist you with any questions you may have on returning to Everybody and your ongoing membership.

Nantwich Outdoor Pool will be opening from Monday 20th July, limited numbers will be available and booking is essential.

At this moment in time we will not be opening our indoor swimming pools, cafes, indoor sport bookings and changing facilities.

We are working closely with a number of outdoor sports clubs including athletics, cricket and rugby to allow them to run sessions from our facilities from week commencing 20th July. Casual bookings for indoor and outdoor sports will continue to be under review, with more information being confirmed in the coming weeks.

We will also not be accepting any hire of our facilities for events or activities, such as children’s parties, until further notice.

It is our pledge to make sure our staff and customers can return to a safe environment which helps everybody to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

Andrew Kolker, Chairman at Everybody Sport & Recreation commented,

“The health and wellbeing of people in Cheshire East is at the heart of our charity. We are committed to providing the best possible experience to our customers, even under social distancing measures and we can’t wait to welcome you back to your community leisure centres.”

He continued,

The Coronavirus pandemic has been tough for everyone and we are all in this together. It is important now more than ever that we have support from our loyal customers to ensure the future of our services.”

We understand that some customers won’t be able to return straight away. During lockdown, we have developed online virtual services for our members and online community. These include health and fitness classes, and it is our commitment to continue this offering as part of the Everybody membership.

If customers are not yet ready to visit us in person you can still connect with members and instructors and remain active and healthy from your own home.
