This year the campaign will shift the focus, while bringing people together through physical activity on National Fitness Day has a hugely positive impact, the day will encourage people to view this day as just one step in a much bigger journey. Because after all, your health is for life.

Using the theme Your Health is For Life, campaign organisers ukactive are encouraging fitness, sport and leisure providers across the UK to make #FitnessDay the biggest movement by breaking down the barriers and getting more people more active!

The campaign now represents the UK’s most active day of the year and is powered by thousands of gyms, swimming pools, leisure centres, sports clubs and other providers, hosting a huge range of free activities for people to try.

National Fitness Day is the UK’s most active day of the year – in 2022 more than 22 million people across the UK to be active on the day, including 11.4 million children!

Dominic Crisp, Head of Operations at Everybody Health & Leisure, shares:

” We are so excited to be back celebrating National Fitness Day in our centres this year. We can’t wait to welcome everyone, both members and non-members to come along and try out our free sessions to show people what our facilities have to offer. Our staff are ready to give you all the best health and fitness experience possible!”

Huw Edwards, CEO of ukactive, which coordinates the campaign, said:

“This year’s theme for National Fitness Day is the perfect reminder of the importance of prioritising our health and wellbeing across our lifetime. Physical activity is key to this, and we are really excited to be hosting our kick-off event in Manchester, showcasing an example of how our sector is supporting cancer patients.

With just one week to go, plans are well underway and we’re looking forward to seeing the great events our members will be hosting – inspiring as many people as possible to get involved and become more active all year round.”
