The Barony Sports Complex Skate Park and Roller hockey Rink was opened on Saturday 21st July 2001 in advance of the opening of the new Barony Park complex.
In response to popular demand, the Council, with the financial backing of Sport England, created the Skatepark and Roller hockey Rink which includes jumps and all sorts to practice your skills on, both with boards and with rollerblades!
The Skatepark is open all day every day and the best thing about it is that it is free. The Roller hockey rink is also bookable for roller hockey, rollerblading & training sessions.
Come along and try out the skate park and show us your skating skills!
A new free-running, purpose built park is open at Barony Sports Complex. This is the only freerunning park in the North West area and 1 of 5 in the UK. Free-running is a form of urban acrobatics in which participants move through structures in an urban or rural landscape.
