When it comes to keeping fit and improving health, there is so much advice out there. We’ve done the searching for you and present our top 5 hints and tips on a range of health and fitness topics.
1: Eat Well
A balanced diet is your key to happiness as your brain needs a mixture of nutrients to function in peak condition. Certain mineral deficiencies, such as iron and vitamin B12 deficiencies, can give us a low mood.
2: Drink Sensibly
As Drink Aware points out, “Alcohol is a depressant: it alters the delicate balance of chemicals in your brain.” High levels of alcohol can lead to a range of negative emotions such as depression, anxiety or anger. Also, try reducing your Caffeine as this can make you feel jittery and anxious.
3: Get Plenty of Sleep
According to the NHS, “One in 3 of us suffers from poor sleep, with stress, computers and taking work home often blamed.” Sleep is the foundation to your mental wellbeing and helps regulate the chemicals in your brain. So turn off that phone when you go to bed!
4: Get back to nature
The charity Mind has found that, “Spending time in green space or bringing nature into your everyday life can benefit both your mental and physical wellbeing.” Sunlight is also a great source of Vitamin D which helps improve our mood.
5: Get Active!
The Mental Health Foundation says, “Regular exercise can boost your self-esteem and can help you concentrate, sleep, and look and feel better.” For that extra bit of motivation why not try one of our many group workouts.
