Do you have hip and or knee pain?

By jadegriffin January 7, 2020

If you have osteoarthritis of the hip and/or knee, join Everybody Sport and Recreation’s free, 6-week, evidence-based rehabilitation programme, ESCAPE-pain, to help you manage your joint pain.

Funded by NHS Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), these sessions are for adults over the age of 45 and are designed to reduce pain and disability in people with chronic hip and/or knee joint pain.

Everybody Sport and Recreation has a course starting at Wilmslow Leisure Centre on 22nd January 2020, more information here.

Over the 6 weeks you will receive information, advice and support from Everybody Sport and Recreation’s qualified ESCAPE-pain Instructors to help better manage your chronic joint pain and lead a more active life.

There are two sessions a week which include education and a group exercise programme, tailored to your individual needs. It’s a chance to socialise with and learn from other people living with osteoarthritis and will result in you being able to carry out normal activities, manage symptoms and be more active.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Aged over 45 years
  • Have knee and/or hip pain for more than 3 months
  • Independently mobile and able to carry out regular exercise
  • Committed to taking part in 2 classes per week over 6 weeks and returning for a final session on week 12.

To find out more information or to book your place, please contact Everybody Healthy on 01270 685589, email: [email protected]  or visit www.everybody.org.uk/escape-pain/  to take a look at the class in action and to meet some members who have made incredible changes to their lives since joining ESCAPE-pain.

Ends.
