In light of the recent Government announcement from the Prime Minister in relation to rules on social gatherings from 14th September it has been confirmed that venues like ours (gyms and leisure facilities) are exempt from these restrictions.
We are able to hold more than 6 people in our venues and our services can continue under our existing arrangements given we have created COVID secure environments for all activities already in place.
All visitors to our centres need to follow our rules of etiquette for all activities including remaining at least 2m apart when taking part in exercise. You can familiarise yourselves with the government guidance here.
We would like to remind our customers that we have been following government guidance since reopening and have gone to great lengths to keep both our staff and customers safe in our centres. We have recently received a 4.8/5 star rating for cleanliness and hygiene and remaining covid-secure.
With our extensive cleaning regimes, social distancing measures for all activities, one way systems and regular reviews of best practice guidance customers can feel confident to return to their local leisure centre.

Do I need to wear a face covering when visiting the centre?
Everybody Sport and Recreation encourages the use of wearing a face covering when attending one of our facilities prior to taking part in an activity or as a spectator.
We will be advising customers around our centres of areas we encourage the use of face coverings, for example some swimming lesson spectator areas. We would always encourage users to try to maintain social distancing of at least 2m in all areas around the facility. Wearing a face covering is a personal preference and not mandatory, we do appreciate this isn’t suitable for all users.
Greater Manchester Local Restrictions (last updated 09.09.20) :
There has now been updated on which areas are still under local restrictions with Stockport and Wigan now no longer affected. All up to date guidance can be found here: www.gov.uk/guidance/north-west-of-england-local-restrictions-what-you-can-and-cannot-do
You may be aware local restrictions have been put in place for the Greater Manchester area. Some of these towns are neighbouring areas for us and both staff and customers may live in them. Guidance has clarified today that if you do live in an area within Greater Manchester customers can still come into our centres provided they come alone, with people they live with or with those in their support bubble, and not from anyone outside of these.
The advice focuses on minimising interaction with those you do not live with in line with COVID-19 Secure guidance. Fortunately all the safety measures we have implemented within the centres are in line with this. Please remember to maintain social distancing and follow all new procedures to ensure yours, our staff and our customer’s safety.
Should you have any queries please contact: www.everybody.org.uk/contact
