Nature can do wonders for the mind and body and our friendly, welcoming groups can help you to build your confidence, meet people locally, discover different interests, practice mindfulness, learn new skills and give back to your local community!
As we move in to the winter months we have a range of new activities launching to help keep your mind and body active and warm during these colder times.

Move🚶- Mindful Meander
This session explores mindfulness in the park to improve your wellbeing. The session starts with a focussed activity to help you feel connected and grounded, followed by a gentle walk around the park with mindful activities to help you notice what is around you, including wildlife walks, bird watching, and tree identification.
A gentle stroll around the park on accessible paths. Wheelchair friendly, although there are some inclines that might be difficult if participant is being pushed.

Move🚶- Pilates for Beginners- Starting 10th November 2023
As we move in to the winter months, help keep your mind and body active and warm during these colder times with our new Pilates for Beginners.
Pilates for beginners is a low-impact exercise that strengthens your core, improves your posture, gives you better balance and enhances your flexibility. The class is a very effective way to get a workout even if you have injuries or ailments.
No equipment needed. Please note the sessions are inside at the Bowling Green.

As we move in to the winter months, help keep your mind and body active and warm during these colder times with our new Buggy Walks.
Buggy Walks are a led walk for parents/carers to bring their baby along and be physically active in the fresh air together, connecting with nature, meeting other people and a chance to socialise. Being a new parent can be challenging at the best of times and many people feel alone and exhausted. The good news is, you’re not alone and our buggy walks are safe and free of charge.

Move🚶- Ramblers Wellbeing Walk- Starting 8th November 2023
Our Rambler Wellbeing Walks are free, short walks, that take place in Queens Park and the surrounding area. Designed to help you take the first step towards better health, wellbeing and happiness. Our Wellbeing Walks are so much more than just stretching your legs, it’s a chance to unwind, meet new people and discover nature.
Everyone is welcome at our Ramblers Wellbeing Walks, we’re a friendly bunch and you’re guaranteed a warm welcome and when you have finished strolling, why not stick around for a chat and a cuppa in the park café.
All you need to do is grab your shoes and come along, please ensure you wear suitable clothing, including lose clothing and flat shoes and its advisable to bring a water bottle.

Connect 🎨- Creative Connections
Join us to explore the natural environment as a source of creative inspiration. We will use natural items to create expressive artistic pieces, pairing nature connection and simple creative activities to help improve your wellbeing.

Connect 🎨- Mindful Art in the Park
In these sessions we welcome you to join us on a 12-week journey using mindfulness and art to connect with nature. Every session will be different with the freedom to create, meditate and relax in an encouraging and self-reflecting environment.
No previous art skills are required! This is an opportunity to learn and grow using nature, art, grounding, journaling, and reflection whilst meeting like-minded people in our beautiful green space.

Grow 🌻- Garden and Grow
Each of our sessions include a short outdoor guided meditation, which you are welcome to join if you would like too.
Discover slow paced and mindful wildlife friendly gardening. Get involved in planting, sowing seeds, and harvesting veg, fruit and flowers. Learn about how to care for plants plus identify and provide homes for garden wildlife too.

Grow 🌻- Allotment Drop-in- COMING SOON
Help us to create a wonderful new gardening space for the community. These sessions will be open for you to drop-in and learn how to grow and cook food from the garden. There will be planned activities throughout the year but first we need to build the garden.

Relax 🧘– Mindfulness for Women & Mindfulness for Men
Take notice of new winter surroundings and take time for you during a busy festive season!
Take a breath and relax with these bite sized mindfulness sessions. Each session has a real focus on slowing down and being present by exploring your connection with nature in our wonderful parks. These sessions are a great introduction to mindfulness and will provide you with techniques to use to help you relax in your everyday life.

Nurture 🌳- Habitat management – Winter Warmers
As we transition from summer to autumn and winter, our focus in these sessions will be making cosy homes for our wonderful wildlife. We will start our session with a gentle focussed activity to help you feel grounded then we will be making bird and bat boxes, a bird feeding area, creating bug hotels, bee posts and weather permitting, carrying out some winter habitat management in our beautiful park such as bulb planting, seed sowing, tree planting and pruning.

Nurture 🌳- Habitat management – Traditional Nature Conservation
Join us for two hours of hands-on nature conservation in Riverside Park. This beautiful landscape is the perfect place to learn about nature, meet new people and develop new skills with our experienced rangers. Here we work together with the Bollin Valley Rangers to help them look after this wonderful stretch of the Bollin Valley.
Riverside is a country park with very few formal paths. We will be working in a variety of spaces including undulating and often muddy areas, woodland, slopes, and riverbanks. We may be working in areas up to 15/20 minutes walk away from the ranger base so a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is essential for this session. Sturdy boots are also essential, and waterproofs are highly recommended.
