What is Be Steady Be Safe?

Be Steady Be Safe is gentle exercise class suitable for people with poor strength, mobility and balance, wanting to reduce falls, increase social interaction and improve overall wellbeing.

Programme format:                                                                                             

The classes are held weekly and include:

  • Prescribed home exercises
  • Education of reducing falls risk factors
  • Exercises consist of a set of leg muscle strengthening and balance retraining exercises, progressing in difficulty
  • You will also receive a booklet with instructions for each exercise prescribed and issued ankle cuff weights in the class to provide resistance for the strengthening exercises

Be Steady Be Safe classes are held  at various centres, days and times, delivered by our qualified Otago Exercise Instructo

How much do classes cost?

Be Steady Be Safe exercise classes cost £3.60 per session or you can join our 12 week Exercise Referral Programme for £27 for 3 months.
